WHY DOES CIRCULATION MATTER FOR YOUR FEET?

Good blood circulation helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to the tissues in your feet and supports the healing process.

When circulation is reduced, even a small cut or blister may take longer to heal and needs to be monitored carefully.

👣 Look out for:
• Cold feet
• Changes in skin colour
• Swelling
• Slow-healing wounds
• Changes in the skin or nails

Healthy feet need healthy circulation.
Don’t ignore changes.

Did you know that diabetes can affect the nerves and blood circulation in your feet? 👣

This can mean that a small cut, blister or area of pressure may not be noticed straight away and may take longer to heal.

Regular foot checks are important. Look out for:

• Cuts, cracks or blisters
• Redness, swelling or warmth
• Changes in skin colour
• Changes to the nails
• Areas of pain, numbness or tingling

👣 Never ignore a change in your feet. Early attention can help prevent a small problem from becoming more serious.

If you have diabetes, make foot care part of your daily routine and attend your recommended diabetic foot checks.

Why regular foot care matters?

These photos were taken 12 weeks apart and show why regular professional foot care is so important.

Changes such as thickened or discoloured nails, ridges, dry skin and redness can develop gradually and may be easy to overlook.

Regular appointments allow us to monitor changes and keep the nails and skin healthy. 👣

Don’t wait until your feet become uncomfortable — regular care makes a difference.

Ever wondered why a corn develops?

A corn is the skin’s response to ongoing pressure and friction. When the same area is repeatedly irritated, the skin becomes thicker and harder in an attempt to protect itself.

This can happen from:
👟 Shoes and socks pressing or rubbing
🦶 Toes rubbing together
🦴 The shape of the toe or joint
🚶 Pressure caused by the way we walk.

Over time, that thickened skin can develop into a painful, hard corn.

Removing it can make the area feel much more comfortable, but addressing the source of the pressure is just as important 👣

Things you really don’t need to apologise to your FHP for…

“Sorry, my toenails are a mess.”

That’s okay. I didn’t expect you to do my job before you came in. 😄

“Sorry, I have loads of hard skin.”

Good! You’ve brought me something to work on. 😜

“Sorry, my feet are disgusting.”

They’re feet. Not a crime scene. 😂

“Sorry, I haven’t had a pedicure in ages.”

This isn’t a beauty contest. 👣

“Sorry, I’m embarrassed.”

This is the one I really don’t want you to say. ❤️

I see feet every day.
Feet with thick nails.
Feet with corns.
Feet with cracked heels.
Feet with hard skin.
Feet that have been ignored for far too long.

And honestly?

I’m not here to judge you. I’m here to help you. ❤️

So please don’t wait until your feet are “good enough” to make an appointment.

Come as you are.
We’ll take it from there. 👣

And yes… I promise I’ve seen worse. 😂

A great example of the importance of regular foot health care, professional treatment and consistency. 👣

This client has been following a consistent foot-care routine alongside professional treatment.

The nail has been regularly maintained, carefully reduced and shaped, with excess damaged nail removed where appropriate. My recommended foot-care products have also been used consistently at home to support the treatment.

We can now see healthier-looking nail growth coming through from the base, while the affected area is gradually growing out.

Professional care + recommended products + good home care = progress. 👣

Fungal nail conditions can take several months to fully grow out, so patience and consistency are essential. Every client and every nail is different.

This post shows treatment progress, not a guaranteed result. Suspected fungal nail infections should be appropriately assessed and referred where necessary.

Ingrowing toenail – treatment before & after

This is why it’s important not to ignore a painful nail.

The nail was putting pressure on the surrounding skin, causing tenderness and irritation. After careful treatment, the nail edge was relieved and the area was left much more comfortable.

Relieve the pressure.
Treat the cause.
Care for your feet.

If you have an ingrowing toenail that’s causing discomfort, get in touch to discuss treatment 👣

Toenail problems shouldn’t be ignored.

Yellowing, thickened nails, ridges or changes in the nail surface can have different causes — including fungal infection, trauma or pressure from footwear.

The important thing is not to guess the cause. A professional assessment can help identify what’s going on and what care is appropriate.

Give your feet the attention they deserve 👣

Callus before and after 👣

A good example of how regular foot care can make a real difference.

The thick, dry callused skin was carefully reduced, leaving the heel looking smoother, cleaner and healthier.

👣 Don’t wait until calluses become painful — regular maintenance helps keep your feet comfortable and cared for.
