Following on from Holla hair post (a couple posts back) of me explaining what I think is most important is this post.
Here’s the proof that attending classes as scary it may be for some, it is so important.
My first class I went to I was so scared to do the hands on part in front of other stylists. But I did it, not well, but I did it. I then went home and practiced straight away and I kept practicing.
I’ve said it time and time again. Growth only comes when you push yourself out of your comfort zone. I’m proof…the girl who use to make her friend comes to classes so I wasn’t alone — to taking classes in front of large classes.
I’m not an overly confident person, never have been. But in saying that, pushing myself I’ve managed to become a lot more confident in all aspects of life.
So take that dam class, I know I will continue to learn 🤍
Make sure to check out Holla Hair Academy where you can find mine and many more amazing artist’s tutorials. Link is in my bio, or comment Tutorial and I’ll send it straight to your inbox.

Brooke & Hayden 🤍
Cannot wait to get back into brides for this upcoming wedding season. I have missed styling hair so much.
I still have some available dates, but I am keeping numbers low to ease my shoulder back into working.

This is the reason your bridal updos look too structured when you’re going for a softer look, and the fix is super easy.
Most stylists I teach say to me the struggle with soft airy hair that doesn’t look too messy. They grip and twist the hair tight and then pin in place, then realise they can’t pinch and pull the hair out.
What you need to do is use soft hands, gently twist the hair and temporarily pin it with U pins, to then pinch and pull for softness.
Add your face framing pieces intentionally, plan them ahead of the updo to help you get a balanced look. Never take them in a straight line, I like to zig zag them so the temple is always covered.
The updo holds well when it is soft and airy, and now it will photograph beautifully and move slightly in the wind which makes for great photos.
Save this and try it on your next content day. What do you find the hardest in updos? I will build my next tutorial around your answers.

I’ve only lost 3kg, but for me that’s bloody huge.
Since my full hysterectomy nearly 7 years ago, menopause has absolutely humbled me. Add in stress, grief and life, and it honestly feels like my body wants to hold onto everything.
I’m no expert, but one thing I’ve learnt is that consistency is everything. There have been weeks where the scales went up instead of down, weeks where I’ve emotionally eaten (especially after losing Mum last year and surgery), and plenty of times I wanted to give up.
But I didn’t.
Fresh start My Food Bag has made staying consistent so much easier. The meals are fresh, healthy, delicious, and I never have to think about what’s for dinner and there’s no food wastage.
I’m still on my journey, but I’m proud of this little win and I feel determined more than ever to feel comfortable in my own skin again.
Swipe through for all the yummy dinners and my progress. 🙌🏻

Learn how to create airy beach waves!
When I teach classes it’s the one thing I see stylists struggle with is how to use ghd hair Australia and New Zealand Classic tongs and achieve the beach waves technique.
I remember when I first learnt this technique and I had to watch the video over and over again to get my head around it. It definitely took some practice, but eventually I got there.
If you struggle with this type of curl, save the video and get practicing, it’s one of the fastest ways to create texture in hair.
Do you struggle with this technique?
