Hey everyone! ✨ Just a quick little policy refresher and update so we can keep things running smoothly for everyone.
As a gentle reminder, our policies and waivers are always available when booking. My time is so valuable, and since we often have a lovely waitlist of people hoping to get in, we want to make sure every open spot gets used! If something comes up, you don’t even need an excuse. Just shoot us a quick message to let us know. Communication goes such a long way! 🤍
💥Important Note on Waivers:
We have updated our policies (including our grace period and fees), so everyone will need to sign our new waiver. If you’re able to sign it ahead of time when booking, amazing! If not, no worries at all—we will just have you sign it at the time of your next appointment.

Quick Policy & Schedule Reminders:

•Studio Schedule: Yvette is in the studio Mondays & Tuesdays (and she speaks Spanish!), and I’m in Wednesdays through Fridays. Feel free to text our business number anytime Monday–Friday and we’ll get back to you!

•Grace Period: We offer a 10-minute grace period for all services. After 10 minutes, it’s considered a no-show and results in a 70% charge to the card on file.

•Cancellations: Please make sure to reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid a 25% cancellation fee.

•No-Shows: No-calls or no-shows will result in a 70% charge.

•Deposits: A card is placed on file and a deposit is due at booking to secure your spot. Deposits are non-refundable and cannot be applied to future appointments.

When I first opened The Waxing Studio three years ago, my goal was simply to create a space where everyone felt welcomed, cared for, and confident. I never in a million years thought we’d be standing here with this kind of recognition, but here we are!
While, yes, I am a waxer, ultimately I am an esthetician, and that is what truly holds my heart. Helping you feel beautiful, radiant, and cared for in your own skin is my absolute passion, and being recognized for that dedication means everything to me.

I might still be relatively new to Carlsbad, but I am officially here to stay! 🌵✨

I mean, I know we get some good breathwork and a little sweat going during a service, but I didn't realize a Brazilian counted as cardio! Hey, we'll take it. 🏋️‍♀️✨

‼️IMPORTANT STUDIO UPDATES ‼️

This is long so please bear with me.

I’m just going to be completely raw with you guys because I’m at a breaking point.

First, thank you to every single person who supports me and recommends me. Your loyalty means the world to me, and I love you all. I started this studio as something fun to get me out of the house, and it’s turned into something much bigger than I ever imagined. Right now, I’m seeing over 120 clients a month. I am a one woMAN team & I don’t think everyone knows that.
I used to think that was a flex—trying to cater to as many people as possible—but it’s not. Burnout is very real, and I’m living proof of it. I’m at the point where I’ve questioned whether I can keep doing this at all or if I want to throw in the towel.

I’m currently out sick, and I still don’t have an exact answer as to what’s going on, but it’s serious enough that I can’t just push through it. The hardest part is that I can’t even focus on resting because I’m overwhelmed trying to figure out how to reschedule everyone when my books are already 3–4 weeks out. That isn’t fair to the regulars who have trusted me for years.

also need to ask for a little grace. While I completely understand the stress of vacations, summer events, or your cycle lining up at the worst possible time, I can’t carry the weight of everyone else’s scheduling anxiety on top of my own. I promise this situation is just as inconvenient for me as it is for you, if not more. I am human & the guilt trips aren’t fun.

Because the math simply isn’t working anymore, I’m officially closing my books to all new clients while I regroup and figure out what the next season of this business looks like.

But I also want to share something that makes me really excited.

To help take some of the weight off my shoulders while I heal, I’ve temporarily brought on someone I trust completely—> Yvette. While she may be freshly licensed, she’s actually my personal waxer, I’ve personally trained her, and I know firsthand the quality of her work. She stepped up for me this week without hesitation, and I’m beyond grateful. Better yet, I’ve already heard nothing but amazing feedback from the clients she’s seen so far. She’ll be helping with all body waxing appointments (excluding brow waxes, tints, and laminations) while I recover.

If you have an appointment coming up Monday or Tuesday and you’d be willing to see Yvette instead, it would truly mean the world to me. I know not everyone is comfortable seeing someone new, and I completely understand that. There is absolutely no pressure!!! For those who choose to see Yvette, I’ll personally reach out and we’ll figure out a plan together for this week. ◡̈

If you’d prefer to wait until I’m back, I’m going to leave my booking link below and kindly ask that you reschedule your own appointment if you were scheduled this Mon/Tues. That will help me tremendously while I navigate all of this and give me a better idea of who’s comfortable with the temporary change and who would rather wait. At this point, I honestly don’t know when I’ll be back. I’m taking it one day at a time until I have more answers, but as of right now these changes apply to Monday the 15th and Tuesday the 16th.

This isn’t me giving up, it’s me finally accepting help and trying to build the kind of business I’ve dreamed about from the very beginning. One that can serve you well without costing me my health.

Right now, I have to choose healing. I need to step back, get better, and figure out how to run this studio without destroying myself in the process. I’m even considering canceling the rest of June and starting fresh in July so I can actually breathe. If you know me, you know I’m the ultimate people pleaser, so even typing that out is incredibly hard. 😅 that’s how serious this burn out is.

Thank you for always supporting me, giving me grace, and understanding that I can’t pour from an empty cup. I love you guys more than you know. 🤍

School is officially out for the summer! While we are proudly a kid-friendly studio and love seeing your families, we want to share a few gentle reminders to help us maintain the peaceful, relaxing environment you all love. This goes for all service providers & clients stepping into the studio.
We lean much more toward a quiet "Spa Vibe" than a bustling salon. At any given moment, we have calming facials, relaxing massages, and detailed services happening that require a serene atmosphere. To help us keep that tranquility, we kindly ask for your help with a few housekeeping items:
🎧 Volume Control: Please be mindful of noise levels in the lobby, whether chatting, taking a phone call, or letting little ones watch a screen (headphones are a lifesaver!).
👀 Supervision is Key: We ask that children are not left unattended in the lobby while you receive your service. Keeping them close ensures their safety and a quiet environment for everyone.
🌱 Our Living Plants: All of our beautiful plants and flowers are real! Please help us keep them healthy by reminding little hands not to touch or pick at them.
🍭 Toys & Treats: We love providing toys and lollipops for our younger guests! If your kiddos enjoy them, please do a quick check before you leave to ensure toys are picked up and lollipop wrappers or pieces make it into the trash.

Starting June 1st these will be the new summer hours for the studio ☀️

Please utilize daytime booking whenever possible during the summer months.
🧯Heat + waxing truly do not mix, especially for Brazilian services, and daytime appointments usually give the best overall experience/results.

I know these hours may not work for everyone and I completely understand that. Over the last few years I’ve tried a lot of different scheduling options and longer days to accommodate as many clients as possible, but I’ve realized I need to create more balance in my life & well being.🧘🏽‍♀️

I started this career because I genuinely loved what I do and while I still do, working 9:30am-6pm almost daily has honestly started to burn me out a little. I want to spend more time with my family, take better care of myself, and continue showing up as the best esthetician (yes that’s what I am) I can be for the clients already in my chair.

•Brazilian waxes + Brazilian bundle services will continue to take first priority in booking as those are my specialty and main focus within the studio.
•Brow waxes will mainly be used to help fill gaps in the schedule when available.

Truthfully I’d love to be off even earlier most days, but I’m still leaving a few later appointments available for the girls who truly need them 🤍

All currently booked appointments will remain exactly as scheduled.
