Toenail fungus is incredibly common and nothing to be embarrassed about. It affects both men and women and can be contracted in many everyday places, including public pools, locker rooms, gyms, shared showers, and yes—even during pedicures if tools aren’t properly sterilized. It can also spread from one infected nail to another or through shared nail clippers, shoes, or socks.

These before-and-after photos are from a client I first met in mid-January. After 11 laser treatments, healthy nails have continued to grow in strong, smooth, and clear. This summer, she’s even been able to paint her toenails between treatments!

Many people are prescribed oral antifungal medications, but they can carry the risk of side effects, including liver toxicity and interactions with other medications. Because of this, they aren’t the right option for everyone. Laser treatment offers a drug-free alternative by targeting the fungus directly within the nails without those systemic risks.

One thing we always make sure our clients understand is that laser treatment is not a quick fix. Toenails grow slowly, and clearing a fungal infection takes time. Multiple treatments are needed, and healthy nails must gradually grow out to replace the damaged portion.

The results, however, can be remarkable with consistency. We work closely with every client to create a treatment plan that provides the greatest value while setting realistic expectations from the very beginning.

Who should not receive laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal may not be appropriate if you:
🤰🏻 Are pregnant (as a precaution)
🦠 Have an active skin infection in the treatment area
☀️ Have a significant sunburn
💊 Are taking certain photosensitizing medications (we’ll review your medications during your consultation)
