Whim Parlour

having an annual (long/solo/off-the-grid) getaway is such a reset - ushering off the summer and the light feels like new years to me!

bruce and i reflect deeply about the last year: what were our wins? where can we improve? what are we accepting and what are we ready to let go? we check in with ourselves, our relationship, the kids, the family unit, our careers.... we celebrate, we mourn, we make plans and goals to circle back to next year.

(we fish/play/rest and smooch a whole lot, too!)

✨️ I WILL NOT BE BRINGING MY WORK PHONE ON THIS TRIP ✨️ while it is absolutely ok to reach out, it is absolutely ok to cancel an upcoming appointment, i am unable to respond/confirm while i'm away. i have a day set aside upon my return to answer all messages and appreciate your patience!

catch you on the flipside! ✌🏼

in case you couldn't tell, i've been teasing about this for awhile now: i am SO pleased and excited to offer you my contribution to the collective give-back event at Niche Hair Collective!

when Tori Geiger challenged me to consider raffling off "an experience", it didn't take me and bruce long to come up with this one. what can we say?! acts of service is our love language! we are hungry to share our love of the outdoors, camping, adventure, and good food with YOU.

you can purchase tickets during your appointment at whim parlour, or better yet: join me september 12th from 10-1 at niche hair collective for your chance to win this spectacular prize.

$20 each and ALL proceeds benefit Grow It Forward Manitowoc - manitowoc's community food center.

camping date is october 24th: rain or shine. may the odds be in your favor!

✨️REMINDER: WHIM PARLOUR WILL BE CLOSED (and i will be unreachable) 8/13-8/23. MESSAGES WILL BE RETURNED 8/24✨️

bruce and i are headed to the UP for our annual 10 day off-the-grid camping trip next week. we are currently menu planning and taking a little stroll down memory lane for inspiration: yup, we made all of these out of a cooler in the middle of nowhere! it's one of our favorite parts of the trip!!

no bathroom. no shower. no electricity. no service. no people!

it takes an immense amount of planning to prep/ pack our meals. we like to eat well while we're gone, so we put a lot of thought and intention into the menu.

if you were camping for a night (and don't know how or want to cook like this) which one of these would you most like to try?!
