More than a coat of paint. ✨

There was a LOT of beautiful wood in this room — but all of it together was making the space feel a bit dark & dated…so we didn’t just paint the built-ins…

We modified and updated the existing cabinetry to create more usable shelves, refinished the built-ins, painted the large paneled wall, updated the hardware, and built a new wood mantel for the stone fireplace.

The goal wasn’t to eliminate the wood altogether but to lighten the space. By quieting some of the wood tones and then bringing natural wood back intentionally through the mantel, the beautiful stone fireplace could finally become the focal point of the room.

Paint was part of the transformation — but thoughtful details made it feel finished.

Some of these spaces needed a fresh coat of high quality & long lasting cabinet paint. Others needed modifications, refacing, custom details, countertops, tile, hardware, or a bigger overall refresh. But in every one, our goal is the same: work with what makes sense to keep, improve what isn’t working, and create a kitchen that feels beautiful and right for the home.

Which one is your favorite?

Beautiful cabinetry deserves a beautiful finish. 🤎

This custom beech cabinetry was built by our friend Steven and we had the privilege of doing the stain and finish work.

When you’re working with quality custom cabinetry, the finish matters. A lot. We take that part of the process very seriously—from the prep and stain application to the final protective finish.

And before any of that begins, we take the time to get the color right. We worked through stain options with the homeowner, testing and adjusting until we landed on a finish that complemented the beech beautifully and felt right for their home.

The goal isn’t just a beautiful color—it’s a smooth, durable finish that protects the craftsmanship underneath and lets the natural character of the wood shine.

These photos were taken while the cabinetry was still in our finish room, but they were just too beautiful not to share.

We love getting to work alongside talented craftsmen and bring that final layer of detail to pieces like these.

You don’t always need to gut a kitchen to completely transform it. 🤎

This kitchen is such a good example of working with what’s already there and putting the budget toward the changes that will make the biggest impact.

There were already some newer elements in the space — including the flooring and faucet — so we kept them and designed the new kitchen around them.

We removed the peninsula to open up the room and improve the flow, but we didn’t want to lose useful storage in the process. So we incorporated a new pull-out trash cabinet into the redesigned cabinetry — giving them better function.

We also transformed the existing cabinet boxes with new Shaker-style doorsand a professional painted finish, added quartz countertops and a new backsplash and vent hood, updated the hardware and sink and completely changed the color story.

The result feels like an entirely different kitchen — without replacing things that didn’t need replacing.
That’s one of our favorite parts of remodeling: helping homeowners decide what’s worth keeping, what’s worth changing, and where their investment will have the most impact.✨

And that cabinet color! 😍 Sherwin-Williams Poetry Plum brought so much personality to this kitchen.
