The Natural Choice Barber Shop & Natural Hair Salon

Peace All,

Join us as we celebrate almost 3 decades of The Natural Choice Barbershop & Natural Hair Salon.

Friday, September 18, 2026 we will host a small gathering at The Natural Choice barbershop in Oakland called “The Listening”.

We will play in its entirety, on vinyl, “arguably” the greatest album in the history of music.

Stevie Wonder’s “Songs in the Key of Life”.

The listening will be from 6 PM to 8 PM. Complementary Drinks and Hors D’oeuvres will be available.

I chose this album because of the similarities of the making of this album in the journey of The Natural Choice. “Songs in the Key of life” was made in the spirit of love and innovation. The Natural Choice was created in that same spirit.

Stevie Wonder created an amazing piece of art that has stood the test of time. The Natural Choice, although much younger than the album, has been able to endure many seasons.

More than anything I have gratitude for being in this space for the time that I have been. I’m beyond grateful for friends, family, and all of the love that has come as a direct result of being a part of The Natural Choice.

I hope to see you Friday 6 PM , , , ,

September 20, 1997 was the day… It was a Friday morning. I was 22 years old and extremely ambitious and Green. Yes, it was 28 years ago today! We started an extraordinary journey that continues in this moment. Myself and founded what would become Pittsburgh’s first ever full service, natural hair salon & barbershop. I’m very proud of the things we have done with The Natural Choice. I’m excited with the things we are doing in the present moment and I’m also excited for what the future holds. I want to personally thank the tens of thousands of customers that have supported us over the last 28 years. There have been highs and lows, but I am grateful for them all. Please sit and share in this moment of gratitude that I have for life, love peace, and the blessings that continue to pour over all of us. I love all of you all! 💚 Let’s continue this journey together.
